Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • 1+ years of public transportation experience preferred
  • current commercial drivers' license (CDL) required
  • CPR or BLS certification preferred
  • must be at least 21 years of age
  • must be over the age of 23 to operate a 15 passenger van
  • must have a positive/clean driving record

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • 1+ years of public transportation experience preferred, preferably in a senior living community
  • current commercial drivers' license (CDL) required
  • CPR or BLS certification preferred
  • must be at least 21 years of age to operate any Cedar Creek of Bloomington vehicle
  • must be over the age of 23 to operate a Cedar Creek of Bloomington 15 passenger van
  • must have a positive/clean driving record
  • proficiency in Internet browsers (e.g., Explorer, Chrome, and Fire Fox), Microsoft Office programs including Outlook, Excel, Word and Publisher, electronic health records (EHR) systems, and any HR related systems if applicable

Job Duties

  • Driving company vehicle from community area to destination according to assigned schedule
  • assisting passengers into and out of vehicle
  • securing passengers' wheelchairs to restraining devices to stabilize wheelchairs during trip
  • operating radio or similar device to communicate with base station or other vehicles to report disruption of service
  • cleaning and servicing vehicle with fuel, lubricants, and accessories
  • meeting all Department of Transportation (DOT) requirements
  • ensuring effective communication is being utilized by community staff with the residents' families concerning residents' care, encompassing their physical, personal, and emotional wellbeing
  • working well with others and taking direction from management, as well as taking initiative with the capability to engage in conflict intervention and resolution for residents, families, employees, and others as needed
  • must remain flexible and have the ability to work weekends, when necessary
  • other duties as assigned
