Job Requirements

- ability to do the work of the position with competence operating auger drill rigs
- skilled in methods and techniques for drilling in different soil types
- physical ability to perform prolonged standing, walking, bending, pushing, reaching, pulling, and lifting
- ability to handle objects weighing 20 to 60 pounds regularly and occasionally over 60 pounds
- capability to respond quickly around rotating drill shafts and tool hammering operations
- readiness to work long shifts of 8-12 hours
- willingness to work outdoors in all weather and temperature extremes
- ability to perform duties while wearing a respirator
- safe driving ability with motor vehicles
Job Qualifications
- ability to do the work of the position without more than normal supervision
- skilled in the operation of drill rigs and manipulation of machinery controls
- knowledge of methods and techniques for working on drill sites through various soil types like clay, sand, and silt
- ability to drive safely
- ability to interpret instructions and operate equipment safely
- experience in maintaining work practices including cleanliness and order
Job Duties
- Operate auger drill rigs and attendant tools effectively
- manipulate machinery controls for lowering tools, augering, lifting, and dumping samples
- work safely around motorized and non-motorized equipment
- drive motor vehicles safely in accordance with regulations
- interpret and follow instructions and specifications related to drill rig and mobile equipment operation
- maintain reliable and dependable work practices
- keep work areas neat, clean, and orderly
