Job Requirements
- Knowledge of methods and ingredients needed for safe food preparation
- Knowledge of principles of public relations
- Knowledge of correct safety policies, practices and procedures regarding food preparation
- Knowledge of the proper use and handling of chemicals used in cleaning
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others
- Ability to make decisions using good judgment and assume responsibility for their impact
- Ability to recognize malfunctioning equipment and report them to the DRC Manager
- Ability to correctly use kitchen equipment

Job Duties
- Assists in food preparation daily
- Assists in making approved purchases of all food
- Responsible for obtaining a basic understanding of all aspects of the kitchen in order to help the Kitchen Manager and take over responsibility should the need arise
- Assists in monitoring inventory levels and performs weekly inventory assessments
- Assists in maintaining a clean and organized kitchen
- Makes recommendations to improve the kitchen whenever possible
- Helps ensure compliance of safety practices and procedures in accordance with City and Health Department
- Promotes good community relationships
- Performs other duties as required
