Job Requirements

- Prior food and beverage experience preferred

Job Duties
- Supervise all employees engaged in bartending and serving for a specific outlet
- Review manifest and staffing levels to determine appropriate work assignments for the staff
- Check with cooks to determine menu changes, substitutions or deletions for the day, and notify staff
- Investigate and resolve guest complaints or concerns in accordance with standard procedures
- Monitor silverware and plate status and order items as needed with budget constrictions taken into account
- Develop schedules to reflect staffing levels needed to give optimal guest service
- Check out restaurant cashiers, cocktail servers or other employees with cash drawers to ensure cash balances
- Train new employees and update all employees on new procedures or policies
- Conduct a physical inventory of bar ware and requisition replacement items as needed
- Coach and counsel all employees when needed to reinforce department and company policy and procedures
- Maintain a well-informed shift by conducting daily shift meetings
- Department walkthroughs are done on a daily basis to assure cleanliness and all equipment is operational
- Must be able to work various shifts and hours to include holidays and weekends
- Maintain the highest standards of professionalism when interacting with guests and co-workers
- Have a basic menu, liquor and wine knowledge. Be able to suggest and present wine tableside
- Responsible for greeting, seating, and reservations per standards set by department
- Assist all staff members to ensure complete guest satisfaction
- Assist in all guest service area and public relations, dissatisfied guests and special requests
- Follow all safety procedures
- maintain work area for a clean and safe environment
- Maintain clean working bars in accordance with coast guard, Indiana Liquor Commission and Health Department standards
- Remove the trash and clean bars, mop and sweep the storeroom and walk-in coolers
- Remove all empty CO2 tanks, beer kegs and soda boxes to proper locations, deep cleaning of bars on both boats and land
- Stock bars, respond to bartender requests for stock and check bar to monitor stock levels
- Retrieve bar supplies from the storage area
- stock and rotate the bar as required
- Wash the glasses and ensure the ice bin is filled
- Assist the bartenders
- Smile and make eye contact when in contact with guest
- Provide friendly, quick, professional service to guests and co-workers
- Change CO2 tanks, beer kegs and soda boxes
- Assist with the delivery of the stock
- Clean and maintain break rooms (boat porters)
- Assist cocktail servers on glass removal
- Notify supervisors/managers of equipment problems
- Follow safety rules
