Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree from accredited college or university or five years related professional experience
- Experience working with a Board of Directors
- Knowledge of urban planning and real estate development
- Knowledge of economic development finance principles
- Excellent interpersonal and public relations skills
- Ability to work with public officials, business partners, and the general public
- Ability to manage political situations with problem-solving skills
- Ability to exercise sound and independent judgment
- Demonstrated accomplishment in economic development with community focus
- Ability to collaborate with business community
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office, internet apps, and GIS
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to manage day-to-day operations
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Public Administration, Business or Business Management, or a closely related field, or a minimum of five years related professional experience
- Experience working with a Board of Directors
- Knowledge of urban planning and real estate development process including terminology, laws, practices, principles, and regulations
- Knowledge of economic development finance principles
- Excellent interpersonal and public relations skills
- Capacity to work effectively with public officials, business partners, staff, and the general public
- Ability to manage high-profile, sensitive, or controversial political situations with problem-solving and negotiation skills
- Ability to adhere to City’s core values including integrity, teamwork, and excellence
- Ability to exercise sound and independent judgment
- Demonstrated track record in economic development with emphasis on community building
- Ability to collaborate productively with the business community
- Excellent team player
- Knowledge of computer applications including Microsoft Office, internet applications, and GIS
- Strong written and oral communication skills including technical report preparation and presentations
Job Duties
- Prepare for DNA Board of Director meetings by sending out agendas, minutes, and treasurer reports
- Provide support to the DNA bookkeeper to prepare monthly financials and file annual taxes
- Work with the Idaho Department of Commerce and other designated cities on implementing the Main Street program and becoming accredited Main Street city
- Prepare necessary reports to Department of Commerce and the National Main Street Center
- Oversee attainment, measurement, and communication of annual goals and objectives
- Develop and maintain relationships with downtown business owners, with the ability to anticipate future needs and plans
- Manage and complete the quarterly billings of the Business Improvement District
