Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum five years of related professional experience
  • Experience working with a Board of Directors
  • Knowledge of urban planning and real estate development
  • Knowledge of economic development finance principles
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Capacity to work effectively with diverse stakeholders
  • Strong problem-solving and negotiation abilities
  • Ability to adhere to City’s core values

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, internet applications, and GIS

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Business, Business Management, or related field, or minimum five years related professional experience
  • Experience working with a Board of Directors
  • Knowledge of urban planning, real estate development, and economic development finance
  • Excellent interpersonal and public relations skills
  • Ability to work with public officials, business partners, staff, and the public
  • Strong problem-solving and negotiation skills
  • Commitment to the City’s core values of integrity, teamwork, and excellence
  • Demonstrated success in economic development with a focus on community building
  • Computer proficiency including Microsoft Office, internet applications, and GIS
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to manage day-to-day operations

Job Duties

  • Prepare agendas, minutes, and treasurer reports for Downtown Nampa Association Board of Director meetings
  • Support DNA bookkeeper with monthly financials and annual tax filings
  • Collaborate with Idaho Department of Commerce and other cities on Main Street program implementation and accreditation
  • Report to Department of Commerce and National Main Street Center
  • Manage attainment, measurement, and communication of annual goals for downtown development
  • Develop and maintain relationships with downtown business owners
  • Manage quarterly billings for the Business Improvement District
  • Support downtown events with the Downtown Events Manager including Third Thursdays, Christmas tree lighting, and Downtown Trick or Treat
  • Develop annual event calendar with DNA and City
  • Implement strategies for business expansion and downtown redevelopment
  • Support coordination of Downtown Implementation Plan
  • Work with property owners to enhance retail and commercial space
  • Coordinate volunteer efforts for downtown maintenance and seasonal décor installation
  • Develop and manage operations budget and yearly work plan for DNA
  • Prepare annual report and update bylaws for DNA
  • Produce and manage informational materials and newsletters
