Job Requirements

  • Valid driver’s license in good standing
  • Fully vaccinated against COVID-19
  • Availability to travel locally and nationally
  • Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
  • Residence within 50 miles of assigned testing area
  • Completion of USADA certification training and exams
  • Ability to stand, bend, and lift 50 pounds regularly
  • For DCO II, valid national phlebotomy certification and state compliance
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • High proficiency with technology
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • No affiliation with external sample collection organizations
  • Willingness to participate in continuing education and recertification
  • Adherence to USADA’s ethical values and team standards
  • Ability to provide witness testimony in legal cases

  • Attend required DCO training sessions, meetings, and conferences
  • Valid driver’s license in good standing

  • For DCO II: National phlebotomy certification from recognized agencies
  • Compliance with state-specific phlebotomy training for residency
  • At least 3 years of phlebotomy experience preferred
  • SafeSport Certification post-offer
  • Advanced medical credentials such as RN, NP, or PA may also be accepted

Job Duties

  • Conduct sample collection sessions in support of the Olympic, Paralympic, and Client Services testing teams and other agencies when requested
  • Accept, plan, and manage doping control assignments per WADA/International Standards and USADA criteria
  • Execute logistics aspects to facilitate successful doping control missions
  • Conduct doping control and process samples according to USADA protocols and WADA Code/International Standards
  • Recruit and onboard independent contractors to serve as Chaperones as needed
  • Witness or oversee sample collection processes
  • Travel to various locations to perform sample collections using economical routes
  • Ensure accurate documentation and completion of doping control procedures
  • Ship and submit processed samples to WADA certified laboratories
  • Assist in training and onboarding new doping control officers
  • Adhere to the latest DCO Manual, sample collection documentation, and training resources
  • Participate in evaluation, continuing education, and re-accreditation programs
  • Maintain control of documents, records, and sample collection equipment
  • Schedule and manage travel and related expenses
  • Provide witness testimony in legal cases including doping rule violations
  • Enforce infection control procedures at all times with equipment and athletes
