Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Successful completion of USADA training and certification
  • Valid Driver's License in good standing
  • Fully vaccinated against COVID-19
  • Ability to travel locally and nationally
  • Ability to work flexible part-time hours
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to use technology including tablets and software
  • Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
  • For DCO II candidates, national phlebotomy certification and compliance with state-specific phlebotomy training
  • Ability to interact professionally with athletes and colleagues
  • Maintain confidentiality and avoid conflicts of interest
  • Willingness to undergo ongoing training and evaluations
  • Ability to provide witness testimony if needed

Job Qualifications

  • For DCO II — National phlebotomy certification from accredited agencies such as ACA, AMT, ASCP, NHA, or NCCT/MMCI with compliance to state-specific requirements
  • Optional advanced credentials like RN, NP, or PA
  • SafeSport Certification (post-offer) desired
  • Work experience in allied health professions with certification or license preferred

Job Duties

  • Conduct sample collection sessions in support of testing programs for Olympic, Paralympic, and Client Services testing teams as well as other agencies when requested by USADA
  • Accept, plan, and manage doping control assignments following WADA/International Standards and USADA criteria
  • Execute logistics related to the doping control process to facilitate mission success
  • Conduct doping control including sample processing according to USADA protocols and WADA Code/International Standards
  • Recruit and onboard independent contractors as Chaperones when necessary
  • Witness or oversee the sample collection process
  • Travel to various locations using economical routes to perform sample collections
  • Ensure accurate documentation and completion of the doping control process
  • Ship and submit processed samples to WADA certified laboratories
  • Assist in onboarding and training new doping control officers
  • Stay accountable to current DCO Manual versions and training resources
  • Participate in DCO evaluation, continuing education, and re-accreditation
  • Control document, record, and sample collection equipment securely
  • Schedule and manage travel and associated expense reports
  • Provide witness testimony in legal cases including whereabouts failures and anti-doping rule violations
  • Enforce infection control processes when working with equipment or athletes
  • Maintain confidentiality at all times
  • Avoid affiliation with sample collection organizations outside USADA
  • Communicate field issues or conflicts of interest
  • Recommend updates and revisions to USADA doping control protocols
  • Perform additional projects and duties as assigned
