Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Three months’ experience in clerical or customer service position preferred
  • Specific certification or licensing based on State requirements
  • Basic computer knowledge and skills
  • Ability to speak, read, write legibly and accurately, and understand English
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to read, follow, and interpret regulations, instructions, and manuals
  • Ability to understand verbal instruction
  • Ability to read numbers on screening equipment and perform basic mathematical calculations

  • Must be able to work day and evening hours, weekends, holidays, and extended shifts on a frequent basis
  • Attendance and punctuality required
  • Ability to utilize required personal protective equipment at all times
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods
  • Ability to tug, lift, and pull up to thirty-five pounds
  • Ability to bend, stoop, or kneel
  • Ability to handle occupational exposure to blood borne pathogens
  • Ability to view video display terminals for extended periods

Job Duties

  • Ensures total operation is compliant with state and federal regulations such as FDA-approved Standard Operating Procedures, OSHA, CLIA, and GMP to maintain the highest production standards and ensure facility compliance
  • Maintains high level of customer service and positive donor experience in line with company values and culture
  • Maintains cleanliness of work area to ensure a clean and professional environment and stocks and maintains an orderly work area with sufficient supplies
  • Maintains Donor Center equipment based on Standard Operating Procedures and applicable manufacturer instructions
  • Monitors donor conditions employing techniques to ensure donor comfort, safety, and quality of plasma product
  • Maintains Donor confidentiality based on company policy
  • Maintains complete and accurate record keeping per company’s Standard Operating Procedures
  • Responsible for troubleshooting machine alarms/alerts and performing routine quality controls on equipment
  • Cleans any blood or plasma spills and performs proper procedure for disposition of biohazardous waste
  • Performs donor eligibility evaluations including vitals assessment, finger stick for hematocrit and total protein, and donor registration
  • Sets up equipment and disposable supplies for venipuncture and plasmapheresis procedures
  • Operates automated plasmapheresis machines including response to alarms, donor adverse events, and documentation
  • Collects, stores, and organizes plasma products and samples promptly and sterilely
  • Prepares products for shipment according to procedures and transportation regulations
  • Monitors freezer and refrigerator temperatures and reports equipment issues
  • Performs other job-related tasks as assigned
