Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
  • Three months experience in clerical or customer service position preferred
  • Specific certification or licensing based on state requirements
  • Basic computer knowledge and skills
  • Ability to speak, read, write (legibly and accurately), and understand English
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to read, follow, and interpret regulations, instructions and manuals
  • Ability to understand verbal instruction
  • Ability to read numbers on screening equipment and perform basic mathematical calculations
  • Effective communication skills
  • Must be able to work day and evening hours, weekends, holidays, and extended shifts on a frequent basis
  • Attendance and punctuality required
  • Ability to utilize all required PPE at all times
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods
  • Ability to tug, lift, and pull up to thirty-five pounds
  • Ability to bend, stoop, or kneel
  • Exposure to blood borne pathogens
  • Ability to view video display terminal less than 18 inches away for up to four hours at a time
  • Ability to work in cold environments (-40C or colder) for extended periods
  • Ability to perform repetitive small motor skills
  • Ability to use assistive devices if needed for mobility or communication

Job Duties

  • Ensures total operation is compliant with state and federal regulations including FDA approved Standard Operating Procedures, OSHA, CLIA, and GMP to maintain the highest production standards and ensure facility compliance
  • Maintains high level of customer service and positive donor experience in line with company values and culture
  • Maintains cleanliness of work area to ensure a clean and professional environment and stocks supplies to meet production demands
  • Maintains Donor Center equipment based on SOPs and manufacturer instructions
  • Monitors donor conditions to ensure donor comfort, safety, and plasma quality
  • Maintains donor confidentiality based on company policy
  • Maintains complete and accurate record keeping per company SOPs
  • Troubleshoots machine alarms and performs routine quality controls on equipment
  • Cleans blood or plasma spills and disposes of biohazardous waste properly
  • Performs donor eligibility evaluation and donor vitals assessments
  • Registers applicant donors per SOPs
  • Sets up and prepares venipuncture and plasmapheresis equipment
  • Operates plasmapheresis machines including responding to alarms and donor adverse events
  • Handles plasma product collection, storage, and shipment preparation
  • Monitors freezer and refrigerator temperatures and reports malfunctions immediately
  • Performs other job-related tasks as assigned
