Job Requirements
- Willingness to work variable schedule including overtime, weekends, and holidays
- Able to calculate shipping costs accurately
- Ability to explain regulations and policies
- Strong coordination skills
- Experience in preparing shipping documentation
- Capable of managing customer inquiries and resolving issues
- Knowledge of customs and insurance paperwork requirements
Job Qualifications
- 2-7 years of freight forwarding experience
- AOG experience a plus
- Hazmat certification a plus
- Experience with compliance and regulatory requirements
- Industry related degree or certification
- Strong knowledge of transportation principles
- Customer service skills
- Administrative and geography knowledge
- Critical thinking and negotiation skills
- Proficient in relevant software tools
Job Duties
- Calculate weight, volume, or cost of goods to be moved
- Inform clients of shipping options, timelines, and regulations
- Prepare shipping documentation such as bills of lading and packing lists
- Provide shipment status notifications to stakeholders
- Verify proper packaging and labeling of goods
- Prepare invoices and cost quotations for freight transportation
- Select shipment routes based on transit times, security needs, and nature of goods
