Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum four years related experience
  • Minimum one year supervisory experience
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Working knowledge of ITAR, import brokerage, export compliance, hazmat regulations and recordkeeping
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office and job specific software
  • Ability to allocate work assignments
  • Proven problem analysis and solution implementation skills
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in international business, logistics, supply chain management, transportation, finance or related discipline preferred
  • Equivalent combination of work experience and education accepted
  • Three years of industry experience preferred
  • Working knowledge of ITAR, import brokerage, export compliance, hazmat regulations and recordkeeping
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office and job specific software
  • Ability to allocate work assignments
  • Proven problem analysis and solution implementation skills

Job Duties

  • Develop and provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers at all times
  • Provide responsible supervision and control for all departmental activities
  • Assist in retention and training efforts of staff and customers
  • Conduct meetings with staff to assess group status, discuss improvements and inform about developments
  • Address employee performance issues in accordance with personnel policies
  • Oversee performance statistics and review shipment documentation for accuracy
  • Examine invoices, bills of lading, and shipping statements to ensure compliance with federal and foreign regulations
  • Compute duties, tariffs, price conversions, weight, and volume of merchandise for exports/imports
  • Communicate with customs officials to obtain release of incoming freight and resolve delays
  • Establish, monitor and revise policies for customs clearance operations as per regulations
  • Identify areas of concern in clients’ import and export processes through monitoring and audits
  • Communicate with operations manager about progress, problems or issues
  • Maintain a flexible work schedule including after-hours on call rotation
  • Participate in or supervise department projects related to assigned area of responsibility
