Job Requirements
- Completion of four years of high school education
- Two years of experience in food preparation in a large-scale food operation
- Possession of a current Food Service Sanitation Certificate or Certified Food Protection Manager certification
- Ability to complete orientation-training course within six months of employment
- Ability to pass IDOC/IDJJ background check
- Ability to pass a drug screen
- Compliance with vaccine and other medical standards set by the employer
- Willingness to utilize digital technology and tools for departmental efficiency
- Adherence to union provisions and applicable collective bargaining agreements
Job Qualifications
- Knowledge equivalent to completion of four years of high school
- Two years of experience in food preparation in large-scale food operation
- Possession of a current Food Service Sanitation Certificate issued by the Illinois Department of Public Health or possession of a Certified Food Protection Manager certification from an ANSI-accredited program
- Effective communication skills using both verbal and written methods
- Experience in ordering supplies, processing invoices, and distributing materials
- Experience applying elementary knowledge of accounting, auditing, or inventory methods and procedures
- Professional experience with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word and Excel
- Experience with the SAP platform
Job Duties
- Monitor individuals in custody in preparation and serving of food for individuals in custody and in maintaining equipment weighing up to 50 lbs
- Monitor individuals in custody in clean-up and sanitation procedures for kitchen equipment and facilities
- Inspect food before, during, and after cooking to ensure proper preparation in compliance with recipes and menus
- Maintain inventory and records of food items used and their expiration dates
- Monitor daily activities of individuals in custody, allowing food supplies, tools, and cleaning supplies to be properly issued and accounted for
- Perform other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above
