Job Requirements

  • Completion of four years of high school education
  • Two years of relevant food preparation experience
  • Current Food Service Sanitation Certificate or Certified Food Protection Manager certification
  • Ability to pass IDOC/IDJJ background check
  • Ability to pass drug screening
  • Completion of orientation-training within six months of employment
  • Adherence to vaccination and medical standards set by the employer
  • Willingness to utilize digital technology for departmental processes

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Two years of experience in food preparation in a large-scale food operation
  • Possession of a current Food Service Sanitation Certificate or Certified Food Protection Manager certification
  • Experience in supervising and managing food service staff
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software
  • Experience in inventory management and recordkeeping
  • Knowledge of professional accounting, auditing, or inventory procedures preferred
  • Experience with SAP platform preferred

Job Duties

  • Monitor individuals in custody during food preparation and serving
  • Monitor individuals in custody during clean-up and sanitation procedures for kitchen and equipment
  • Inspect food to ensure proper preparation in compliance with recipes and menus
  • Maintain inventory and records of food items and their expiration dates
  • Monitor daily activities of individuals in custody to ensure proper issuance and accounting of supplies and tools
  • Perform other related duties within the scope of the position
