Job Requirements
- Be punctual to begin work
- Wear proper uniform including black slacks, Black Bear Diner tee-shirt, hat and slip-proof shoes
- Maintain a neat and clean appearance
- Facial hair must be well trimmed
- Nails clean and trimmed
- No excessive jewelry
- Able to stand and walk for prolonged periods up to four hours without sitting
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to multitask including communication via radio headset
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Prior experience in dishwashing or kitchen sanitation is a plus
- Ability to follow sanitation and safety standards
- Strong organizational skills
- Good communication skills including radio headset use
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
Job Duties
- Responsible for cleanliness of all china, glass, silver, pots and pans
- Responsible for sanitation of all dishes, glassware and silverware
- Maintain cleanliness of dishwashing machine and chemicals
- Wash pots and pans following proper procedures
- Organize dish room and restock kitchen line with plates, bowls and dishes
- Restock food servers area with glassware, silverware and empty buss tubs
- Clean kitchen floors, freezer, refrigerators, cooking and baking equipment
- Maintain cleanliness of back areas, dumpster area, guest restrooms, and parking lot
- Report chemical shortages and dish breakage
- Take out garbage and cardboard container for pickup
- Follow scheduled breaks and work overtime if needed
- Complete other assigned tasks as designated by management
