Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in safety management or related field
- OSHA 511 and 501 certification required
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, Outlook
- Knowledge of OSHA, DOT, and Food Safety regulations
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to conduct root cause analysis
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and holidays
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college preferred
- 5+ years related experience or combination of both education and experience
- Adobe Acrobat (pdf), Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook, and other Microsoft Office Suite knowledge
- Working knowledge of state and federal guidelines and statutes, as well as other compliance
- Must have OSHA 511 and 501 certifications
- Must be flexible and willing to work the demands of the department which are subject to evenings, and holidays
Job Duties
- Conduct safety audits of facilities to pinpoint unsafe working conditions, practices and develop sound recommendations for corrections
- Attend Accident Review Council meetings to review accidents/injuries to determine corrective actions
- Assist in audits performed for customers or by third party auditors
- Establish a consistent approach for managing safety workflow processes and a consistent approach for managing work observations
- Track Safety Management Program activity descriptions, costs, person responsible and targeted completion dates
- Conduct activities related to the safety and compliance teams, such as auditing and investigation of food safety, OSHA, DOT policy violations
- Utilize resources to resolve Safety problems by analyzing data, identifying trends and acts on the needs to improve the development and delivery of recognized hazards
- Conduct accurate root-cause analysis to generate prevention strategies and implement preventative and corrective actions
- Streamline reporting processes, policies and workflow
- Update management on the status of safety program by utilizing monthly and quarterly reports supplied by Director of RMS
- Coordinate training with different depts. to fill gaps in training
- Flowchart Enterprise Safety and talk roles/responsibilities of each individual role
- Work cross-functionally with other departments to address customer or business issues and resolve errors in a timely manner
- Provide input into changes in policies, including the development of new policies needed to facilitate OSHA/DOT or Food Safety compliance
- Ensure that Enterprise subject matter experts are kept apprised of all audits, contact by government and regulatory agencies as well as the status of any internal reports
