Job Requirements
- Currently enrolled in a veterinary program and in their clinical year of veterinary studies
- In good academic standing
- In good physical shape and able to lift 25kg
- Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in California coastal weather
- Currently residing and studying in the United States
- Ability to commit to a two to four-week externship period
Job Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a veterinary program and in clinical year of veterinary studies
- Good academic standing
- Experience or strong interest in aquatic animal medicine and conservation
- Ability to prepare professional presentations
- Effective communication and teamwork skills
Job Duties
- Assist veterinary and animal care staff with clinical cases
- Participate in daily rounds and diagnostic procedures
- Observe and assist in surgical procedures
- Participate in necropsies and clinical pathology
- Collaborate with husbandry staff and water science technicians
- Assist the sea otter rehabilitation team
- Prepare and present a case report or literature review
