The Tidewater District Admin is a key organizational unit responsible for supporting and overseeing Navy Exchange operations, specifically within the vibrant region of Virginia Beach, Virginia. Job Requirements
- Must be a U.S. citizen
- Must be able to obtain a top secret clearance
- Minimum seven years of experience in any combination of administrative, merchandising, technical, services, vending, retail or related work
- One year of related academic study above high school may substitute for nine months of experience
- Bachelor’s degree may substitute for three years of experience
- Four years of specialized experience in store or vending operational management or merchandise buying
- Ability to exercise mature judgment
- Skill in person-to-person work relationships
- Ability to lead and manage teams
- Strong communication and organizational skills
Job Qualifications
- Minimum seven years of experience in merchandising, retail, vending operations, or management
- Four years of specialized experience in operations management, merchandise buying, accounting, facility maintenance, distribution, general administration, planning, directing or coordinating merchandising activities
- Proven supervisory experience in human resources or similar fields
- Ability to analyze data and manage organizational support
- Knowledge of inventory control and contracted business operations
- Experience providing quality customer service and operational leadership
- Familiarity with vending software systems and procedures
- U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain a top secret clearance
Job Duties
- Monitors and maximizes operational performance
- Develops financial projections for assigned locations and analyzes vending system reports to ensure goals are met
- Initiates corrective actions as necessary
- Works under the general guidance of the designated supervisor who sets priorities within the District
- Follows corporate guidance provided by NEXCOM
- Assists with implementing recommendations for day-to-day vending and Micro Market operations
- Leads development for all Micro Markets within the District
- Solicits new locations for vending machines or Micro Markets
- Trains vending supervisors and managers on solicitation processes
- Manages subordinates engaged in vending operations
- Evaluates performance and ensures appropriate training and development
- Selects or recommends staffing of management positions
- Coordinates product and equipment knowledge training
- Maintains operating records and ensures security of products, cash, and equipment
- Ensures semi-annual vending change fund audits
- Reviews financial performance with supervisor monthly
- Conducts monthly field reviews and provides written trip reports
- Ensures compliance with operating procedures and departmental efficiencies
- Assesses efficiency and integrity with focus on high-risk areas
- Manages product distribution within the district
- Ensures accountability and rotation of vending inventories
- Enforces compliance with theft prevention and cash handling policies
- Collaborates with Code S to resolve problems
- Trains associates in customer service and organizational skills
- Provides assistance in vending software system usage
- Implements inventory and control procedures using vending software
- Analyzes vending machine reports and initiates corrective actions
- Manages equipment requests and maintenance
- Coordinates review of vending operations methods
- Oversees Micro Markets including customer service, stocking, and sanitation
- Keeps abreast of industry and market trends
- Supervises assigned personnel and handles staffing and performance issues
- Implements NEXCOM policies and procedures related to vending
- Ensures compliance with safety, sanitation, and security regulations
- Supports and communicates EEO policies
- Performs other related duties as assigned
