Job Requirements
- 7-10 years experience with increasing levels of responsibility working directly for a 3PL or freight forwarding company
- industry related degree and or certification
- proficiency with compliance, email, ERP, MRP, CRM, logistics and supply chain software
- strong communication and leadership skills
- ability to manage multiple departments and teams
- problem solving and critical thinking abilities
- experience negotiating contracts and managing vendor relationships
- knowledge of supply chain and transportation regulations
- ability to analyze financial data related to logistics
- excellent time management skills
- knowledge of customer service principles
- ability to develop and implement logistics policies and procedures
Job Qualifications
- 7-10 years experience with increasing levels of responsibility working directly for a 3PL or freight forwarding company
- industry related degree and or certification
- knowledge of transportation principles and methods for moving goods by air rail sea or road including costs and benefits
- knowledge of customer service principles and evaluation
- knowledge of business and management principles including strategic planning resource allocation and leadership
- knowledge of production processes quality control and manufacturing distribution
- knowledge of public safety and security procedures
- knowledge of personnel recruitment training compensation and labor relations
- knowledge of computer hardware software applications and programming
- knowledge of curriculum training design and methods
- knowledge of mathematics economics and accounting principles
- skills in active listening management of personnel resources speaking critical thinking time management problem solving coordination judgment decision making monitoring and reading comprehension
- abilities in oral comprehension and expression problem sensitivity written comprehension deductive and inductive reasoning near vision speech clarity and recognition written expression
- proficiency with desktop and laptop computers facsimile machines multi-line phone systems
- experience with compliance email ERP MRP CRM logistics and supply chain software spreadsheet and Microsoft Office applications
Job Duties
- resolve problems concerning transportation logistics systems imports or exports or customer issues
- oversee district managers and domestic operations directors in formulating standardized SOPs for customers
- collaborate with other departments to integrate logistics with business systems or processes such as customer sales order management accounting or shipping
- maintain metrics reports process documentation customer service logs or training or safety records
- supervise the work of logistics specialists planners or schedulers
- direct inbound or outbound logistics operations such as transportation or warehouse activities safety performance or logistics quality management
- direct or coordinate comprehensive logistical or reverse logistical functions for product life cycles including acquisition distribution internal allocation delivery recycling reuse or final disposal of resources
