Job Requirements

  • Ability to read, write, speak, understand, and communicate in English sufficiently to perform the duties of the position
  • High school diploma or GED certification preferred
  • Six months of clerical experience involving handling or delivery of mail, packages, supplies, or other items preferred

  • Ability to read, write, speak, understand, and communicate in English sufficiently to perform job duties

Job Duties

  • Receives, verifies, and signs for all incoming supplies ordered by the hospital
  • Delivers all supplies received promptly and maintains accountability and proof of deliveries
  • Assists in preparing and delivering storeroom orders and preparing packages for outgoing shipments and vendor returns
  • Picks up and delivers interoffice, incoming, and outgoing mail
  • Picks up mail from and delivers mail to the Post Office
  • Signs for insured and registered letters and packages
  • Maintains logs of hand deliveries, certified, registered, and special delivery correspondence to appropriate personnel
  • Transports documents to and from official hospital business functions as necessary
  • Operates hospital vehicles to distribute mail, packages, supplies, and other items
  • Develops working knowledge of all equipment used in automating mail, receiving, and storeroom activities
  • Serves as liaison between Materials Management and internal campus locations
