Cook County Offices under the President encompass various administrative and operational departments including Administrative Hearings, Auditor, Bureau of Administration, Bureau of Economic Development, Bureau of Finance, Bureau of Human Resources, Bureau of Technology, and Facilities. Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or general education development test (g.e.d.) certificate
  • three years of work experience as a courier or delivery driver in route-based delivery operations
  • possession of a valid driver’s license and proof of insurance
  • able to pass required drug test and background check
  • ability to lift, carry, push, or pull objects weighing 20 to 50 pounds occasionally and 10 to 25 pounds frequently
  • legally authorized to work in the united states without sponsorship
  • willing to produce original required documents within five days of offer

Job Qualifications

  • high school diploma or general education development test (g.e.d.) certificate
  • three years of work experience as a courier or delivery driver in route-based delivery operations
  • possession of a valid driver’s license and proof of insurance
  • skill in operating vans and passenger vehicles safely and efficiently
  • proficiency in the use of two-way radios and global positioning systems (gps)
  • ability to prioritize work, coordinate tasks, and meet deadlines without close supervision
  • ability to communicate courteously with the public via phone, email, or in person
  • ability to participate in physical exertions including lifting, pulling, and pushing objects of moderate weight

Job Duties

  • operate vehicles and handle distribution of materials safely and efficiently
  • drive assigned routes and transport documents, materials, mail, tools and equipment to all maintenance districts and downtown locations
  • transport automotive parts to and from contracted vendors
  • provide transportation services to all divisions within the department
  • respond to telephone, radio, and/or email requests in a timely, courteous and accurate manner
  • follow directions and coordinate the pickup and drop off of various items
  • perform other duties as assigned
