Job Requirements

  • Prior cooking experience required
  • Must be able to comprehend, convert, and prepare recipes
  • Must be able to lift 25 lbs on a regular basis and up to 50 lbs occasionally
  • Must be able to use chemicals required in daily cleaning
  • Ability to read and comprehend English required
  • Uniforms furnished by department
  • Hair restraint as required in College-Union Agreement
  • Meal breaks as assigned by management
  • Must have reliable transportation
  • Willingness to work at multiple dining locations as requested by management
  • Must be available to work scheduled hours which include weekends and weekdays
  • Classified as essential personnel and expected to report during emergencies

Job Duties

  • Prepare foods requiring short cooking times per customer requests and menu standards
  • Handle sauté and wok equipment over high heat
  • Operate char-broiler, fryolators, ovens, flattop grill and batch freezer
  • Manage multiple orders simultaneously while maintaining a clean work area
  • Follow Dining Services recipes and culinary arts techniques accurately
  • Communicate with customers professionally including taking orders and product knowledge
  • Cross train at other stations and assist management as assigned
  • Comply with all state and local food service regulations including SERVSAFE and NSF standards
