Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Possess or obtain valid Class B Commercial Driver's License with Passenger Endorsement and removal of Air Brake Restriction within 90 days of hire
  • Maintain valid US DOT Medical Examiners Certificate
  • Ability to work Monday through Friday from 1:00 PM to 9:30 PM
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Ability to use Word, Excel, and dispatching software preferred
  • Previous dispatching experience preferred

Job Qualifications

  • High school grad/GE degree
  • 0 to 1 year of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Possess or obtain valid Class B Commercial Driver's License with Passenger Endorsement and removal of Air Brake Restriction within 90 days of hire
  • Maintain and possess valid US DOT Medical Examiners Certificate
  • Previous dispatching experience preferred
  • Experience with Word, Excel, and dispatching software preferred
  • Strong customer service experience required

Job Duties

  • Receive and dispatch requests for vehicular escorts during evening and late-night service hours
  • Coordinate the efforts of the vehicular Shuttle Service with other transit services through dynamic resource allocation including people and vehicles
  • Provide accurate information and courteous assistance regarding Penn Transit Services regulations, policies, and procedures
  • Maintain statistical data on the usage of services on a daily basis
  • Ensure that the daily data capture is properly completed at the end of each shift
  • Responsible for radio equipment, its proper use, care, and secure storage in the central dispatch location at shift end
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned
