Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalency required
  • associate degree or equivalent preferred
  • 0-3 years in freight forwarding or customer service/operations industry experience preferred
  • proficient in Microsoft Office
  • previous experience working with AS400 preferred
  • strong problem solving and multi-tasking skills
  • high attention to detail and organization
  • strong geographic and mapping skills
  • great interpersonal and communication skills

Job Duties

  • Responsible for routing local freight
  • dispatching drivers
  • performing dock checks
  • tracking shipments
  • working with dock staff members to ensure movement of freight
  • timely event data entry of shipment milestones into MyAIT and AS400 tracking system including pickup, delivery, obtain proof of delivery
  • provide customer service to identify and meet specific customer needs
  • answer and make customer inquiry calls and address customer concerns and complaints
  • assign driver load planning based on local mapping and appointments accordingly
  • identifying and coordinating the prioritization of rushed urgent last minute shipments
  • other duties and responsibilities will be assigned as business demands deem necessary
