Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalency required
  • Associate degree or equivalent preferred
  • 0-3 years in freight forwarding industry experience preferred and/or industry experience in customer service or operations
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Previous experience working with AS400 preferred
  • Strong problem solving and multi-tasking skills
  • High attention to details and organization
  • Strong geographic and mapping skills
  • Great interpersonal and communication skills

Job Duties

  • Responsible for routing local freight, dispatching drivers, performing dock checks, tracking shipments, working with dock staff members to ensure movement of freight
  • Timely event data entry of shipment milestones into MyAIT and AS400 tracking system - pickup, delivery, obtain proof of delivery
  • Provide customer service to identify and meet specific customer needs
  • Answer and make customer inquiry calls and address customer concerns and complaints
  • Assign driver load planning based on local mapping and appointments accordingly
  • Identifying and coordinating the prioritization of rushed, urgent, last minute shipments
  • Other duties and responsibilities will be assigned as business demands deem necessary
