Job Requirements
- High school diploma or passage of a high school equivalency exam
- Current certification as Ohio Emergency Medical Technician or obtain within 18 months of hire
- Current and valid Ohio Driver's License and maintain eligibility for insurance carrier requirements
- Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association or obtain within 90 days of hire
- 1 year of experience in customer service
- Ability to read maps quickly and convey directions
- Knowledge of Ohio geography or obtain within 6 months
- Proficient in flight computer-aided dispatch and mapping software or obtain within 6 months
- Strong computer skills including MS Office and data entry
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Strong organizational, time management, and multitasking skills
- Ability to remain calm under stress
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Ability to interact with diverse backgrounds
- Physical ability to sit, stand, stoop, bend, ambulate intermittently
- Ability to lift and push/pull weights as specified
- Ability to wear telephone headset for extended periods
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Current certification as Ohio Emergency Medical Technician or obtain within 18 months of hire

- 1 year of customer service experience
- Proficiency in reading maps and conveying directions
- Knowledge of Ohio geography or obtain within 6 months of hire
- Proficient use of flight computer-aided dispatch software and mapping software or obtain within 6 months
- Strong computer skills including MS Office and data entry
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to interact effectively with diverse cultural, ethnic, racial, and socioeconomic backgrounds
- Preferred certifications include Emergency Medical Technician and Emergency Medical Dispatcher
- Preferred experience includes EMS, 911, or patient-facing roles
- Experience in dispatch, call center, or air/ground patient transportation
- Knowledge of MetroHealth electronic medical record and billing system
Job Duties
- Manage logistics and facilitation for routine, non-emergent ground ambulance transportation calls
- Coordinate the safe and timely movement of patients between hospitals and medical facilities
- Serve as an ambassador for MetroHealth System and partner organizations
- Provide start-to-finish concierge and call management services
- Engage in problem resolution and resource access to ensure service availability
- Demonstrate critical thinking and transportation assessment in high-stress situations
- Coordinate communication with multidisciplinary and diverse clientele
