Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • FAA issued Aircraft Dispatcher certificate
  • Minimum two years of dispatch experience
  • Ability to work shifts, weekends, holidays, and overtime
  • Effective communication skills
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Ability to handle high-stress, fast-paced environments

Job Qualifications

  • Must possess and maintain an FAA issued Aircraft Dispatcher certificate
  • Minimum two years of aircraft dispatch experience
  • Five years of dispatch experience preferred
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Bachelor’s degree in aviation or management preferred
  • Supervisory or management experience preferred
  • Ability to work shifts, weekends, holidays, and overtime as required

Job Duties

  • Manage daily maintenance of dispatcher work schedule including sick call coverage, shift trade processing, and overtime assignment
  • Maintain authority to ground any flight deemed necessary for safety or operational need
  • Oversee dispatchers in daily operations and act as focal point of Dispatch Resource Management
  • Coordinate with SOC Shift Manager for daily flight schedule execution
  • Act as liaison to Air Traffic Control including slot swapping and optimization
  • Coordinate with Tactical Customer Advocate to mitigate delays and flow control impacts
  • Maintain awareness of weather and air traffic control concerns, analyze impacts, and provide recommendations
  • Monitor dispatch workload and redistribute flight releases as needed, especially during irregular operations
  • Manage audits and quality control for Dispatch and Load Planning products
  • Supervise Aircraft Dispatchers ensuring compliance with policies, procedures, and FAA regulations
  • Coach and discipline staff up to separation of employment
  • Coordinate execution of departmental fuel savings initiatives and safety management programs
  • Oversee Load Planners in operations including workload balancing and cargo tracking
  • Provide training and competency checks for dispatchers and load planners
  • Exercise management level financial decision authority
  • Evaluate and recommend policy changes to improve department performance
  • Participate in Dispatch SMS Data Analysis Group
  • Act on behalf of Sr. Manager in their absence
