Job Requirements

  • US citizenship required
  • Must be able to hold or obtain a Secret security clearance
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum 1 year experience as a 911 dispatcher or in similar emergency call center role
  • Ability to work under stress and respond effectively to emergency situations
  • Excellent phone communication skills
  • Basic computer proficiency with word processing and spreadsheet software
  • Ability to perform administrative and filing duties
  • Willingness to undergo and pass a thorough background check

  • Excellent phone skills
  • Ability to perform filing and administrative duties
  • Knowledge of 24-hour emergency communication center operations and public safety communications environment
  • Proficient computer skills including word processing and spreadsheets
  • Ability to hold or obtain Secret security clearance

Job Duties

  • Monitor FPS and guard radio traffic while coordinating responses to emergencies and non-emergencies
  • Communicate audio messages via radio and telephone
  • Coordinate law enforcement and public safety personnel activities
  • Transfer public safety information
  • Answer questions and update client records
  • Think and act quickly, calmly, and accurately in emergency situations
  • Log all calls with required details in the database
  • Maintain detailed logs to ensure officer safety and efficient communications
  • Operate multi-channel radio and telephone equipment
  • Access federal, state, and local databases maintaining compliance
  • Assist with quality review of events created by dispatchers
  • Monitor alarms and keep accurate records
  • Perform administrative tasks on desktop computers and notify management of issues
  • Monitor in-house CCTV cameras
  • Perform dispatching duties for other locations during failures
  • Assist in training dispatcher trainees
  • Routinely test alarms, communication systems, and other devices
