Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- prior kitchen or food service experience preferred
- ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- physical ability to stand for long periods and lift heavy items
- knowledge of food safety standards
- good communication skills
- willingness to follow standard operating procedures and hygiene protocols
- ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
Job Qualifications
- Past experiences working as a cook, chef, or in a similar role within a high-volume production kitchen or food service environment preferred
- fluency in English and Spanish is a plus
- ability to lift items over 30 lbs
Job Duties
- Support the kitchen manager in daily operations
- operate standard kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
- prepare ingredients to use in cooking such as kneading dough, making fillings, and handling raw materials
- follow standard procedure (SOP) to prepare and cook food
- ensure all food and other items are stored properly
- monitor stock and place orders when there are shortages
- clean and maintain kitchen equipment, utensils, appliances and workstations
- follow standard recipes and special diet orders
- adhere to all sanitation and food production codes
- fast-paced dish cleaning
