- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1-2 years food service experience preferably in hospital or long-term care setting
- On the job training provided
- Sanitation certificate preferred

Job Duties
- Performs overall cleaning and sanitation of the department
- Performs daily check of scheduled cleaning list and ensures areas and/or items are cleaned as specified
- May perform other cleaning duties in the dining room or kitchen as assigned
- Performs weekly drain cleaner treatment for all drains
- Ensures all deliveries for dining services department are stored in the appropriate area in a timely manner following the first in/first out method
- Ensures safe and sanitary processing of soiled dishes, silverware, glassware, and related items through dishwashing system
- Sets up dishwashing area including filling the machine, turning on heaters, filling equipment with cleaning compounds and rinse agents, and arranging racks
- Scrapes, racks, and pre-rinses all dishes and silverware according to procedures
- Cleans dish machine including tanks, catch trays, and outside surfaces
- Re-stocks all service ware in proper designated places
- Refills dish machine for next meal and cleans counters around dish machine area
- Cleans all carts and pours water into glasses for next shift
- Empties trash to designated areas and cleans garbage cans on regular basis
- Performs all other duties as assigned
