Job Requirements
- No formal education required
- Must be able to read labels on chemicals
- Must have six months or more of commercial dishwashing experience preferred
- Must understand and adhere to workplace safety procedures
- Must follow all terms and conditions set forth in the United Church Homes Employee Handbook
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Must maintain a high standard of cleanliness and safety
- Ability to lift and move heavy kitchen items as necessary

Job Duties
- Sorts and rinses dirty dishes, glass, tableware and other cooking utensils and places them in racks to send through dish machine
- Sorts and stacks clean dishes and carries clean dishes to cook's line and other proper storage areas
- Rewashes soiled dishes before delivering
- Changes dishwater in dish machine every hour
- Washes pots, pans and trays by hand
- Sets up or breaks down dishwashing area when needed
- Fills/empties soak tubs with cleaning/sanitizing solutions
- Assembles/disassembles dish machine, as necessary
- Wipes up any spills to ensure kitchen floors remain dry and free of hazards
- Notifies manager anytime dish machine wash or rinse cycle falls below safety standard temperatures
- Ensures that hands are always sanitized before handling clean dishes, as well as maintains other sanitary procedures
- Removes food trash and garbage to dumpster, as necessary
- Performs all other duties as assigned or directed
