Job Requirements
- high school diploma or equivalent
- previous experience in a kitchen or sanitation role preferred
- ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- physical stamina to perform repetitive tasks and lift moderate weights
- availability to work holidays and weekends
- willingness to comply with resort safety and health policies
- ability to take direction and work as part of a team
- effective communication skills
- reliable and punctual
- ability to pass a background check
Job Qualifications
- knowledge of OSHA and state/local health and safety regulations
- experience with cleaning and sanitizing kitchen equipment and food storage areas
- ability to maintain cleanliness and organization in kitchen environments
- experience in proper waste management and supply stocking
- ability to work under pressure and adapt to last-minute changes
- strong interpersonal skills and positive attitude
- basic understanding of food safety standards
- prior hospitality or resort experience is a plus
Job Duties
- work in a safe manner and abide by OSHA policies and those set forth by the resort
- put together the dish machine in the correct manner and check soap and sanitizer levels
- lay down non-slip mats and rugs in kitchen
- fill all sanitation buckets for each prep station and fold towels for each station
- set out pre-soak bucket for silverware and ramekins
- place all clean trash receptacles with liners in all prep areas of kitchen and line
- clean and sanitize all kitchen equipment
- clean and sanitize all food storage areas, walk-in coolers, freezers and dry storage areas
- clean filters and hoods
- clean and sanitize loading dock, garbage areas, all garbage containers and all garbage bins from food production and service areas
- store all cleaned articles in the correct areas
- remove stains from china and cutlery as required
- ensure all access and traffic areas are free and clear of debris
- keep all equipment in its proper areas and said areas are to remain clean and organized
- report all accidents and breakages to the kitchen manager or supervisor
- report and/or take action on any equipment breakdown or safety issue relevant to your work area
- remove trash, break down boxes and keep kitchen floors debris free
- assists in ordering stewarding supplies
- adheres to state and local health and safety regulations
- exhibits flexibility and emotional control when dealing with last-minute changes and special requests
- works closely and maintains a positive working relationship with kitchen staff
- complies with all policies, procedures and standards
- must be able to work holidays and weekends
- perform other duties as requested by management
