Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or GED preferred
  • previous food service experience preferred
  • knowledge of and adherence to applicable HIPAA regulations
  • knowledge of and adherence to applicable safety practices including incident reporting, handling wastes, sharps and linens, use of PPE, exposure control plans, hand washing, environmental safety rounds, receiving orders for patients, and clinical alarms for all age groups

Job Qualifications

  • previous food service experience preferred
  • ability to follow instructions and work under general supervision
  • knowledge of proper sanitation and cleaning procedures
  • familiarity with kitchen equipment operation
  • understanding of infection control and safety policies
  • ability to maintain a safe and sanitary work environment

Job Duties

  • cleans and sanitizes assigned areas following proper sanitary procedures
  • maintains work area in a clean, neat and orderly manner
  • sets up and operates dish machine to clean dishes, trays, silverware, glassware, and other utensils
  • performs daily cleaning of ranges, kettles, carts, pots, pans and other food service equipment
  • performs special cleaning duties as assigned by the supervisor
  • inspects cleaned items to ensure proper sanitation and quality
  • sweeps and mops floors according to schedule
  • collects, sorts and disposes of trash, cans, bottles and similar debris and transports to disposal area as needed
  • assists in expediting the flow of work in the kitchen, storeroom and/or food service areas as assigned
