Job Duties

  • Ability to follow oral and written directions
  • Ability to work alone
  • Maintain steady work pace to produce an adequate supply of clean kitchen utensils and dishes and pots and pans
  • Scrape soiled dishes and place them in a dish machine
  • Operate an automated dish washing solution dispensing system
  • Supervise travel of dishes through dish machine
  • Sort and transport clean dishes to storage area
  • Clean work area including walls, sinks, racks and trash cans daily and follow Cleaning Checklist
  • Assess problems and breakdown in dish washing machinery
  • Set up Pot and Pan Room
  • Change water frequently in all three sinks
  • Empty trash container in kitchen, never allowing overflow
  • Attend in-service training programs for Dietary Service employees
  • Observe infection control procedures related to Dietary Department
  • Follow Resident's Rights policies at all times
  • Follow facility safety programs
  • Come to work as scheduled, demonstrating dependability and punctuality
  • Accept assigned duties cooperatively
  • Take food carts to and from Nursing Floors
  • Clean and replace metal trays on food carts daily
  • Sweep and mop refrigerators on schedule
  • Clean food lowerators, cups, glasses, soup bowls and coffee cups on schedule
  • Clean and scrub food carts and sanitize with quaternary ammonium compounds routinely
  • Perform other duties as directed by supervisory staff
  • Employ sensory and communicative activities including feeling, hearing, seeing, smelling, tasting and reading and speaking English
  • Function under inside environmental conditions, including extreme heat and exposure to physical, chemical and respiratory hazards
  • Adhere to Values and Expectations and compliance program
  • Attend meetings and complete required Relias in-services
