Job Requirements
- Food Handler Permit or ServSafe certification by first day of work
- availability to work Sunday through Saturday with variable shifts
- physical ability to lift, bend, stand for long periods, and work around cleaning chemicals and dish machines
- ability to communicate clearly and understand spoken information
- manual dexterity to operate equipment
- willingness to adhere to hospital hygiene and safety standards
Job Qualifications
- Food Handler Permit or ServSafe certification required by first day of work
- one or more years of experience in general housekeeping or food service preferred
- ability to read color coded labels and chemicals
- ability to follow written and verbal directions
- ability to operate housekeeping equipment and dish machine preferred
Job Duties
- Cleans and sanitizes dishes
- collects carts with patient trays from hospital floors
- cleans and disinfects assigned dining and work areas using departmental cleaning procedures
- uses cleaning chemicals properly according to Joint Commission and OSHA standards
- understands and properly disposes of infectious waste and trash
- operates and maintains commercial dishwashing equipment according to established procedures
- communicates clearly and follows written and verbal directions
