Job Duties

  • Wash dishes, glassware, and cookware using commercial dish machines and by hand for oversized or delicate items
  • scrape, sort, and stack soiled dishes, and carry clean items to their proper storage locations
  • set up, break down, and clean the dish machine and dishwashing area according to procedure
  • assist with general cleaning duties, such as sweeping and mopping floors, cleaning spills, and sanitizing workstations, kitchen equipment, and storage areas
  • manage waste by emptying trash and recycling bins throughout the shift and taking them to the dumpster
  • help with basic food preparation, such as washing produce or other prep work, as directed by the chef or manager
  • receive and store deliveries of food and other supplies
  • monitor cleaning chemical levels and water temperatures to ensure proper sanitization
  • adhere to all local and state health, safety, and sanitation guidelines
