Job Qualifications
- high school diploma or equivalent
- at least one year of previous food service experience in a nursing home assisted living or elderly rehabilitation community preferred
- ability to interpret and explain menu refer or answer questions coordinate meal service process and understand requests
- ability to work independently and cooperatively with residents guests visitors families supervisor and peers requiring courtesy tact and graciousness
- ability to communicate effectively with residents families and staff using sound judgment and strong organizational skills
Job Duties
- maintain the cleanliness of designated kitchen areas and equipment including proper removal and disposal of garbage and boxes
- wash and sanitize all dishes glassware flatware and small wares to established standards
- put all clean items away in specified area ensuring these areas are organized
- set up work area as per established standard operating procedure
- monitor and log temperature and sanitizer concentrations of dish machine and 3 compartment sink as specified
- sweep and mop floors and complete other assigned cleaning tasks
- assist in maintaining a high level of customer service for residents and guests
