Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Ability to lift 26 to 100 pounds occasionally
  • Ability to walk, stand, bend, and stoop for extended periods
  • Ability to use cleaning chemicals safely
  • Good communication skills
  • Previous experience in food service or cleaning environment a plus
  • Willingness to learn and work flexibly

Job Duties

  • Performs all daily cleaning and sanitizing before the end of scheduled shift
  • Assures that all Food Servers and Dishroom personnel follow proper cleaning procedures and works cooperatively and compatibly with them to assure that all dishwashing and cleaning is complete and accurate
  • Washes pots correctly using 3 sink procedure
  • Maintains the supply of clean pots and utensils for food preparers and servers
  • Demonstrates the proper use of all chemicals and cleaning tools
  • Understands and safely performs cleaning of floor mats, walk-in refrigerators, racks, walls around pot sink area, and dishmachine
  • Checks leftovers before discarding and informs Chef of problems or excess waste
  • Reports damaged or unsafe equipment or structure immediately
  • Accurately fills in on Trucks, receiving, cafeteria, or beltline when needed
  • Demonstrates and models the hospital's core values and customer service behaviors
  • Perform additional duties as needed
