Job Requirements

  • Walking, standing or bending for 5 to 7 hours per day, 2 hours at a time
  • Walking 2 hours and 30 minutes
  • Frequently uses fingering and handling for picking up objects such as dishes, pots, pans, brushes, scrub pads
  • Occasionally needs firm grasping and twisting or turning
  • Uses upper extremities to lift 26 to 75 lbs occasionally
  • Employee is required to carry 26 to 50 lbs occasionally
  • Push 76 to 100 lbs occasionally and pull 26 to 50 lbs
  • Ability to stoop, bend, crouch, reach above shoulder level frequently

Job Duties

  • Performs all daily cleaning and sanitizing before the end of scheduled shift
  • Assures that all Food Servers and Dishroom personnel follow proper cleaning procedures and works cooperatively and compatibly with them to assure that all dishwashing and cleaning is complete and accurate
  • Washes pots correctly using 3 sink procedure
  • Maintains the supply of clean pots and utensils for food preparers and servers
  • Demonstrates the proper use of all chemicals and cleaning tools
  • Understands and safely performs cleaning of floor mats, walk-in refrigerators, racks, walls, and dishmachine
  • Checks leftovers before discarding and informs Chef of problems or excess waste
  • Reports damaged or unsafe equipment or structure immediately
  • Accurately fills in on trucks, receiving, cafeteria, or beltline when needed
  • Demonstrates and models the hospital's core values and customer service behaviors
  • Performs additional duties as needed
