Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • ability to walk, stand, and bend for extended periods
  • ability to lift and carry 26 to 50 pounds occasionally
  • ability to push up to 100 pounds occasionally
  • ability to use cleaning chemicals safely
  • must be able to understand and perform sanitation procedures
  • willingness to work flexible shifts including weekends if needed
  • no prior food service experience required

Job Duties

  • Performs all daily cleaning and sanitizing before the end of scheduled shift
  • assures that all Food Servers and Dishroom personnel follow proper cleaning procedures and works cooperatively with them
  • washes pots correctly using 3 sink procedure
  • maintains the supply of clean pots and utensils for food preparers and servers
  • demonstrates the proper use of all chemicals and cleaning tools
  • cleans floor mats, floors in walk-in refrigerators, racks in refrigerators and pot and pan racks, walls around pot sink area
  • checks leftovers before discarding and informs Chef of problems or excess waste
  • reports damaged or unsafe equipment or structures immediately
  • accurately fills in on trucks, receiving, cafeteria, or beltline when needed
  • demonstrates and models the hospital's core values and customer service behaviors
  • performs additional duties as needed
