Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid California Food Handler Card
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks such as heavy lifting and standing for extended periods
- Knowledge of workplace safety procedures
- Ability to read and understand chemical labels
- Strong hygiene and sanitation compliance
- Ability to speak, read, and understand English
- Capable of following time schedules for meal preparation and service
- Willingness to adhere strictly to departmental and OSHA guidelines.
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- California Food Handler Card
- Experience in catering, fast food service, prep work, or food handling preferred
- Ability to operate kitchen and dishwashing equipment
- Capable of heavy lifting
- Ability to stand for long periods
- Ability to follow written and oral instructions
- Strong attention to detail and sanitation practices
- Effective communication skills
- Previous experience working in institutional kitchen environments is a plus.
Job Duties
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards for food pans, sheet pans, food racks, cooking utensils, and kitchenware using machine and manual cleaning methods
- Ensure dishwashing areas are clean, safe, and sanitary
- Empty box bins when needed
- Set up and clear pot washing sink area
- Check, fill, and operate dish machine
- Monitor and record wash and rinse temperatures
- Wash soiled items and ensure all washable equipment air dries on racks free of water
- Follow hygiene protocols preventing cross-contamination
- Sort, stack, and transport clean equipment to proper storage
- Sanitize stainless steel areas, tray lines, and tray belts
- Wash floor mats and re-rack them
- Run and clean dish machine filters
- Shut down and clean dish machine thoroughly
- Remove trash and cardboard to dumpster
- Adhere to safety and OSHA guidelines
- Perform other assigned duties.
