Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Ability to work a variety of shifts including weekends and holidays
  • Physical ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English
  • Willingness to follow all safety and sanitation policies
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • No visible tattoos or piercings that violate company appearance policies
  • Must successfully pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test within 90 days of hire

  • Previous dishwashing or kitchen experience preferred but not required

  • Basic understanding of cleaning supplies and safety procedures

Job Duties

  • Wash, sanitize and dry items placed in the dish area or as requested by management or staff
  • Safely wash and sanitize all kitchen utensils and equipment
  • Ensure the cleanliness of all items washed and sanitized in the dish room
  • Follow proper dishwashing sequence according to restaurant specifications
  • Maintain a pace sufficient to prevent back up of dirty dishes, glasses, etc.
  • Read a thermometer, maintain dishwashing machinery and identify potential problem areas
  • Safely and efficiently operate and utilize the dish machine and cleaning supplies
  • Identify cleaning supplies and their specific uses
  • Notify management when supplies are running low and need to be replaced
  • Assist with general cleanliness of the back of house and restrooms
  • Check garbage for restaurant supplies, including silverware and ramekins
  • Empty garbage, keep garbage area clean and covered
  • Move safely through all areas of the restaurant, including stairs and slick surfaces
  • Return/restock all items to the appropriate area after washing and sanitizing procedures are completed
  • Promote teamwork among co-workers and employees
  • Understand all policies, procedures, standards, specifications, guidelines and training programs
  • Communicate cordially, effectively and clearly with all employees, managers, partners, corporate staff and guests
  • Must wash hands regularly according to guidelines
  • Comply with all safety and sanitation guidelines
  • Understand and complete all side work as assigned
  • Be able to stand and walk for an entire shift
  • Communicate in English to comprehend and perform job requirements
  • Perform more than one task at a time
  • Work in a confined, crowded space with variable noise and light levels
  • Accept direction and constructive criticism from management
  • Be able to work a variety of hours, days and shifts, including weekends and increased work schedules
  • Maintain a positive, pleasant attitude every shift
  • Must be able to work at approximately 36 table/bar height and reach 36
  • Must be able to lift and carry sacks, boxes and products up to 50 pounds from floor to waist level
  • Must be able to reach (6 to overhead), bend, stoop and wipe
  • Must be willing to perform other duties assigned as needed
