Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- prior experience in a hospitality or kitchen steward role preferred
- ability to work flexible shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
- physical ability to perform demanding manual labor
- willingness to comply with company safety and security policies
- must hold a valid Food Handler Card
- ability to follow detailed instructions
- strong attention to cleanliness and hygiene standards
- good communication skills
- ability to work well within a team environment
Job Qualifications
- Hold a current Food Handler Card
- knowledge of how to maintain service ware to complement guest experience
- ability to operate commercial kitchen dishwashing machine according to hotel and health standards
- ability to comprehend and apply written product labeling instructions
- physical dexterity to use kitchen equipment such as knives, spoons, spatulas, tongs, slicers
- ability to push and pull heavy service carts
- ability to lift or move goods weighing up to 100 lbs
- demonstrate constant physical activity including twisting, bending, stooping, reaching, standing, walking, talking, hearing, seeing and smiling
Job Duties
- Promptly and carefully sort soiled ware for proper washing
- quickly wash all ware and replace in designated storage areas
- keep dish machine properly cleaned and filled with water per hotel standards
- clean kettles, tilt skillets, pots and pans promptly and thoroughly
- perform general and routine cleaning tasks using standard hotel cleaning products
- clean and dry floors to prevent slip and fall accidents
- separate linen from other debris
- adhere to all company policies and procedures
- follow safety and security procedures and rules
- know department fire prevention and emergency procedures
- utilize protective equipment
- report unsafe conditions to management
- report accidents, injuries, near-misses, property damage or loss to management
- maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance
- assist other kitchen personnel when needed
- perform any related duties as requested by management
