Job Requirements

  • Ability to stand and walk for an entire shift
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to work a variety of shifts including weekends
  • Must comply with all safety and sanitation guidelines
  • Must wash hands regularly according to guidelines
  • Ability to work in confined, crowded spaces with variable noise and light levels
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Must be punctual and reliable
  • Willingness to perform additional duties as assigned

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience in a dishwashing or sanitation role preferred
  • Ability to operate dishwashing machinery safely
  • Familiarity with kitchen sanitation standards and practices
  • Effective communication skills in English
  • Ability to work cooperatively with team members
  • Capacity to follow directions and accept constructive feedback

Job Duties

  • Wash, sanitize and dry items placed in the dish area or as requested by management or staff
  • Safely wash and sanitize all kitchen utensils and equipment
  • Ensure the cleanliness of all items washed and sanitized in the dish room
  • Follow proper dishwashing sequence, according to restaurant specifications
  • Maintain a pace sufficient to prevent back up of dirty dishes, glasses, etc
  • Read a thermometer, maintain dishwashing machinery and identify potential problem areas
  • Safely and efficiently operate and utilize the dish machine and cleaning supplies
