Job Duties
- Maintains cleanliness of kitchen and dining room
- ensures all dishware and preparation tools are clean and sanitized after each use
- assists in preparation and service of food using proper food handling and food safety techniques
- keeps work area clean and uncluttered
- maintains proper temperature of food during preparation and service and records temperatures accordingly
- maintains proper temperature and sanitation of dish machine during use and records temperatures
- labels, dates and stores food and chemicals properly
- ensures refrigerator and freezer temperatures are within appropriate range and reports discrepancies
- washes pots, pans, serving utensils according to established procedures and stores them properly
- reports hazardous and malfunctioning equipment to supervisor
- makes recommendations to supervisor regarding equipment improvements
- develops and maintains a good working relationship with food service and other departments
- participates in in-service education, on-the-job training and orientation classes
- maintains confidentiality of resident care information
