Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • prior kitchen or dishwashing experience highly desirable
  • ability to stand for extended periods
  • physical capability to lift and carry heavy kitchen items
  • flexible availability to work varied shifts including weekends and holidays
  • adherence to union requirements under Unite Here Local 11
  • strong communication skills
  • ability to follow instructions and maintain sanitation standards

Job Qualifications

  • understanding of basic kitchen sanitation
  • basic knowledge of HAACP guidelines
  • familiarity with kitchen equipment including dishwashers, steamers, ovens, grills, fryers, flat tops, stove tops, slicers, knives and other small wares
  • minimum one year prior experience working in a team environment
  • must be 18 years or older
  • prior experience in fast-paced quick service, convention center, restaurant or other foodservice environment is helpful
  • ability to work an event-based schedule including days, nights, weekends and holidays

Job Duties

  • maintain an adequate level of chemicals such as glass cleaner and floor cleaner as determined by lead or manager
  • ensure guest satisfaction by maintaining all dishes, pots, pans, silverware, glasses, equipment, and kitchen utensils are cleaned and sanitized
  • wash all small wares ensuring all items are free of food and properly sanitized
  • operate commercial dishwashing machines
  • maintain dishwashing station, three compartment sink and related areas clean
  • dispose of all trash in food production areas using approved methods
  • clean, separate, and store kitchen equipment, carts, refrigerators and service ware
  • collect, break down, and dispose of cardboard boxes
  • sweep and mop designated areas
  • assist in completing china, glass, and equipment orders and delivering to requested locations
  • perform other duties as assigned by leads or management
