Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to work in hot and humid conditions
- Capacity to lift up to 50 lbs
- Effective communication skills
- Ability to follow detailed instructions
- Willingness to work flexible shifts
- Ability to read and understand MSDS sheets
Job Qualifications
- Basic understanding of sanitation and safety procedures
- Ability to follow instructions and work under supervision
- Effective communication skills
- Physical ability to meet the demands of the job
- Prior experience in a similar role is an advantage but not required
Job Duties
- Follow proper sanitation procedures as directed
- Be able to work in a sometimes hot and humid environment
- Ensure that the dishes are properly washed and dish machine(s) are filled and maintained according to manufacturer standards and health department guidelines
- Ability to read and comprehend MSDS sheets and understand what measures to take and how to treat dangerous situations in the event their eyes, skin, or throat is exposed to various harmful chemicals
- Be able to communicate effectively with kitchen and utility personnel, as well as others within the hotel
- Be able to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 lbs
- Be able to stand or walk for long periods of time
