Job Requirements
- A score of 90% or better on all health department inspections
- a score of 90% or better on all mystery shopper reports
- follow all dress code requirements including chef shirt, black pants or approved chef pants, apron, WS hat or hair net, black non skid shoes, no piercings in kitchen, beard guards if necessary, no cell phone use unless on break
- ability to stand and work for 6 to 10 hours on concrete surfaces
- ability to lift and carry food items weighing 40 to 75 pounds without assistance and up to 150 pounds with assistance
- ability to push, pull, and maneuver food items, pots, pans and trash cans weighing 35 to 150 pounds
- corrected vision and hearing
- ability to communicate effectively and remain mentally alert in a fast-paced environment
- obtain and maintain Nueces County Food Handler's Permit at all times
- adhere to company policies, confidentiality, and operational manuals
- must wear hair above collar length
- able to perform tasks such as slicing, cutting, cooking assistance, food order accuracy, inventory, equipment operation and cleaning
- meet training test accuracy of 90%
- able to work in environments from 38 to 350 degrees Fahrenheit with moderate to high noise levels
- must be alert to identify and avoid hazards
Job Qualifications
- Ability to work A.M./P.M. shifts as required by management
- knowledge of food preparation techniques
- ability to follow recipe standards accurately
- good communication skills to work with team and management
- ability to maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards
- ability to learn and train others using Kitchen training manual
- basic math skills for inventory and record keeping
- knowledge of health department rules regarding cooking and handling food
- must be at least 16 years old
- ability to follow dress code requirements
- ability to speak, understand, read and write English (except Dishwasher position)
Job Duties
- Bring food issues to Kitchen Mgr attention to bring to weekly meetings
- meet or exceed "Water Street Way" standards for cleanliness, product quality and guest satisfaction
- provide quality prep by adhering to all recipe standards
- assist in the training of all kitchen positions following the Kitchen training manual
- implement all systems and forms for kitchen stations
- follow all pars designed for kitchen stations
- stand on hard surfaces for shifts up to 10 hours
