Job Requirements
- 1+ year back-of-house experience in a full-service restaurant preferred
- Ability to lift, carry or move up to 30 lbs
- Able to work in hot and cold environments
- Ability to walk and stand for extended periods up to 8 hours per shift
- Frequent bending, reaching, kneeling, squatting and stooping
- Manual dexterity to handle glassware, utensils and technology systems
- Ability to move quickly in a fast-paced environment
- Visual ability including distance, close, color, depth and peripheral vision and ability to adjust focus
- Ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation
- Responsible Beverage Service Certification required for California-based positions
- Commitment to food safety and sanitation standards
- Compliance with California wage and hour laws
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- 1+ year back-of-house experience in a full-service restaurant preferred
- Food safety knowledge and sanitation compliance
- Ability to work in fast-paced kitchen environment
- Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred
- Basic knowledge of kitchen equipment and dishwashing machines
- Ability to follow health and safety guidelines effectively
Job Duties
- Ensures smooth and steady kitchen operations by keeping dishwashing areas organized
- Manages tasks efficiently to maintain kitchen workflow
- Follows all food safety and sanitation guidelines
- Restocks kitchen and cooking line as needed throughout the shift
- Performs routine cleaning of the kitchen and assists with general cleaning tasks
- Clear understanding of dish machine operations including chemical components and proper procedures
- Keeps floors clean and dry
- Ensures plates and smallware are properly washed, sanitized and stored
- Maintains and inspects food receiving, preparation, production and storage areas to ensure health and safety regulations are met
- Corrects unsafe practices or conditions and notifies management
- Demonstrates teamwork by supporting all areas of the restaurant as business needs arise
