Job Requirements
- fluency in job related English, both verbal and non verbal
- compute basic arithmetic
- high school graduate or equivalent vocational training
- previous experience as hotel or restaurant dishwasher or janitorial cleaning position
- familiarity with proper sanitation regulations
- certification in sanitation
- knowledge of proper chemical handling

Job Duties
- adhere to hotel specifications and standards in operating dishwashing machine to wash designated restaurant and kitchen wares
- clean and maintain equipment and dishwashing, kitchen, cafeteria, compactor and storage areas
- assist in washing pots, pans and other kitchen utensils and equipment
- complete other special cleaning projects as assigned
- monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation and organization of assigned work areas
- use correct cleaning chemicals for designated items according to OSHA regulations
- check the working condition of dishwashing machine and rectify deficiencies
- fill dishwashing machine with specified chemicals and ensure temperature standards
- remove excess food and debris from soiled wares before washing
- position wares correctly in racks and operate dishwashing machine only when full
- inspect cleanliness and condition of washed wares and rewash if necessary
- sort, stack and store cleaned wares in designated areas
- handle wares carefully to prevent breakage
- change dishwashing machine water and filters as needed
- maintain cleanliness and working condition of garbage disposal
- clean and sanitize pots, pans, utensils and kitchen equipment
- stock kitchen lines with cleaned wares
- transport garbage to dumpster and adhere to recycling regulations
- report damages or hazards to supervisor
- organize and restock work areas for next shift
